Engineers solve global challenges every day, so we’re excited to bring our engineering programs to Semester at Sea. The collaboration speaks to our commitment to supporting international experiences and engagement for students, faculty, and staff.
Engineering at Sea
A unique engineering cohort on fall Semester at Sea voyages.
Semester at Sea and Colorado State University’s Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering will be offering engineering courses on board the MV World Odyssey beginning with the Fall 2024 voyage. Engineering students attending accredited colleges and universities will be able to participate in this unique program while earning CSU credits and staying on track for graduation.
What courses will be offered?
As a student in this cohort you will take two engineering courses (Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, for 6 credits), register for one other elective course in business, science or other areas (3 credits), and will be enrolled in Global Studies (3 credits).
The cohort will be led by, and courses taught by, a CSU Global Teaching Scholar. Bert Vermeulen, a professor in the college of engineering, will lead the cohort in Fall 2024.
