Fall 2025: European, African, and Asian Adventure
ENGR 337 Thermodynamics
Overview of Course
This rigorous upper division thermodynamics problem-solving course is designed to meet the academic requirements of typical ABET-approved engineering undergraduate programs. We will cover the first and second laws of thermodynamics, properties of pure substances, analysis of open and closed systems, applications of thermodynamic principles to power and refrigeration cycles. We will explore these principles by analyzing the energy consumption of our voyage, the related carbon footprint of our experience, and explore the range of energy use and trajectories of the many countries that we will visit.
