As we navigate through multiple ports of call, students will engage with local traditions and contemporary practices, gaining firsthand insight into the cultural dynamics that shape each region. This course does not require any prior expertise or specific interests, only a willingness to explore and embrace the rich tapestry of global cultures.
Through interactive discussions, experiential learning activities, and reflective assignments, students will develop essential skills for academic success and personal growth. They will analyze cultural artifacts, participate in local customs, and engage with communities, fostering a holistic understanding of the interconnectedness of the world.
By delving into the cultural narratives of the countries we visit, students will be encouraged to address contemporary global issues, enhancing their capacity to think critically about their roles as global citizens. This course aims to build a cohesive shipboard community, where mutual respect and shared learning experiences form the foundation for meaningful connections.
Join us on this voyage of discovery, where each port of call offers a new opportunity to understand and appreciate the diverse world we inhabit, ultimately shaping well-rounded individuals ready to contribute positively to a global society.
