HDFS 101 Individual and Family Development
Overview of Course
You are at a pivotal stage of development and this course will provide insights into past, current, and future influences on your life outcomes. You will have the opportunity to expand your thinking about how relationships, family, historical events, culture, biological make-up, and environmental factors influence physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Using an approach relevant to majors and careers in health, education, the behavioral sciences, and business, you will gain knowledge that you can use to support people in each period of the lifespan including infancy, toddlerhood, childhood, adolescence, emerging and young adulthood, and middle and later adulthood. We will examine cross-cultural differences pertaining to these life stages as we visit different ports.
